Pro-D Opportunities UPDATED!

Volunteer with Education Beyond Borders in South Africa this summer!

Unfortunately one of our team members has had to drop out of this year’s projects due to job action and we are in immediate need of a replacement.

The projects:
Eastern Cape Province:
This year’s focus will involve building district ownership over professional development sessions to support learning-centred ICT integration strategies. This year will look at co-facilitating with some of the district’s e-learning personnel from last year’s programme to support subject specialists and classroom teachers. Project dates: June 27 to July 1st.

Western Cape Province:
This project will focus strongly on leadership by our local partner, Edunova, with complete coordination in their hands and with the EBB team acting as facilitating and supporting partners. Our role will be to empower and build capacity with our local partner facilitators, and co-facilitate and support educators in their schools in townships outside of Cape Town. Project dates: July 3rd to 24th.

The same team will be working both the Eastern & Western Cape Projects. We are looking in particular for teachers with expertise in:
- ICT integration facilitation at both primary and secondary
- Strong experience at guiding teachers in the best use/integration of ICTs and of drill & practice/subject-based software to enhance learning
- Policy development/implementation and school-based visioning and integration of ICT’s

- Strong teamwork dynamics and online collaboration skills a must

- Dates: Arrive in South Africa by June 24th, 2011 depart anytime after July 23rd.
